The “Big 4” – Interpublic Group of Copanies

The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. (IPG) is a New York based multinational advertising and public relations enterprise. It is one of the Big 4 global ad agencies with a specialization in consumer advertising, digital marketing, communications planning and media buying, public relations and specialty marketing.The company employs over 43,500 staff  in more than 100 countries; in 2011 they reported revenues of US $ 6.96 B. Since 2005 IPG has been led by Chairman and CEO Michael I. Roth.

IPG was incorporated in 1930 under the name of McCann Erickson (after Harrison McCann and Alfred Erickson) and started using the Interpublic name as of 1961 when it became the world’s first marketing services management holding company. Ten years later, the company went public.

IPG has three global brands that provide large-scale advertising and marketing solutions for clients McCann Worldgroup, Draftfcb and Lowe and Partners Worldwide

Additionally, they have multiple domestic integrated agencies and global media networks that specialize in corporate branding, experiential marketing, sports marketing, public relations, healthcare, and digital agencies.
